Staff Bios

SAMANTHA LEE ENGLISH

Samantha is a lifelong dancer, with a BFA in dance theatre from Emerson College. Her teaching credentials which include working at several Massachusetts based dance studios. She regularly choreographs performance and competition dances for various shows and expositions in the New England area, where her students have been awarded top honors. In her dance career, she has performed with professional dance companies based in Boston and New York and has had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Sean Curran, Marlena Yannetti, Daniel McCusker, Janet Craft, Tommy Neblett, and Cheri Opperman. Samantha has also directed shows in and around the Boston area including “Last Night…” a contemporary modern dance show using aerial dance, and recently choreographed a music video for Koch records hip hop artist C-Luk. In addition to her work as a dancer and choreographer, Samantha is also one of the co-founders and directors of “Wingin’ It” Dance Company, a Boston area based Modern Dance troupe. Samantha also regularly participates in dance conventions across the nation to expand her repertoire and increase her dance technique (a dancers work is never done). Aside from the dance world, Samantha lives in Newton with her husband Dave and their new puppy, Copper.

KARA LANGIONE

Kara Langione has been dancing for over 20 years. She has performed with many notable companies in both Massachusetts, Maryland and New York. With a BA from Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire, she performed and choreographed for the schools dance company. Kara also interned with Doug Verone and Dancers in New York working as a stage manager. Upon her return from college, Kara co-founded "Wingin-It Dance Company" with Samantha Lee English, and Victoria Ravin focusing on Jazz and Modern dance. Currently, Kara lives in Newton MA with her kitten Whiskey Jack!
